Direct Sales of Pink Band Edition of Surviving Deployment Supports Military Families Affected by Katrina

Sept 2 , 2005 -- In an effort to support individuals and families affected by Hurricane Katrina, Elva Resa Publishing LLC announced today that it will donate 50% of profits from direct sales of its special pink band edition of Surviving Deployment: A guide for military families.

Publisher Christy Lyon noted, "Just like many other people, our staff and authors have personal friends who have been affected by Katrina. One friend and her three children lost their house and all belongings and have had to relocate to another state while her husband continues rescue and relief efforts with the Coast Guard." She added, "We all really wanted to find a way to use our resources to help."

The team chose the Surviving Deployment book because it represents to them a positive message to military families to find the good in a challenging situation. Author Karen Pavlicin said, "It's heartbreaking to see the devastation Katrina has brought and to hear about the personal stories of loss. That could be any one of us. This is just one small effort, but makes us feel a little less helpless as we watch from the sidelines."

The publisher has stocked a special print run of books with a pink band across the back of the cover. "When people receive a book with the pink, they'll know that their purchase has helped families affected by Katrina," Lyon said.

To order, send your name and contact information via email to orders@elvaresa.com or fax to 501.641.0777 and say you want to support the Katrina relief efforts.
